About Alonso Brito: Born in La Habana, Cuba during the Golden Fifties, Alonso Brito had an idyllic childhood. At the age of nine, Fidel Castro's revolution arose and Alonso was forced to flee the country, never to return.

Alonso arrived in Miami, Florida in September 1960, a landmark historical period in American history.  Thrust into early adulthood at ten years old, Brito witnessed the short-lived presidency of John F. Kennedy, the Birmingham Riots, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the civil rights movement, the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, manned space travel, and the Vietnam War.  Alonso Brito uses these experiences not only to give depth to the life he leads, but also volume to the music he shares.

Alonso, along with his dear friend Chris McClure, has prepared a style of show that has not been seen since the 1950's. The combination of their experiences and their vision is a new brand of truly Cuban-American music.
